About us

We manufacture in the UK a range of manganese dioxide and silver/silver chloride reference electrodes for measuring the potentials of buried and submerged steel.

Primarily our reference electrodes are used for permanent installation in reinforced concrete to monitor reinforcement steel potentials for corrosion activity or control a cathodic protection system.

We also supply permanent and portable silver chloride reference electrodes for seawater immersion to measure steel potentials.

We supply directly to all continents of the world and can generally deliver within 3 weeks of the order being received.

With no distributors you are able to deal directly with Head Office in the UK and our prices are very competitive.

History

Castle Electrodes Ltd has been trading since 1994 providing quality reference electrodes across the world. Some of our first contracts include 800 LD25 electrodes supplied to Mina Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi in 1995 and 150 LD25 electrodes supplied to the A92 Tay Road Bridge in Scotland in 1994.

These were installed to monitor reinforcement steel potentials in concrete for impressed current cathodic protection systems and still continue to perform satisfactorily after 25 years in very harsh environments.

Since 1994 CEL has gone on to develop a range of reference electrodes, including manganese dioxide, to meet industry demand but continue to supply the LD15 and LD25 range which have been so successful over the years.
