Midland Links Motorway network

This is a complex network of elevated motorway roads built in the 1960s. The support columns and cross head beams have deteriorated due to corrosion of the reinforcement initiated by chlorides from de icing salts.
The UK Highways Agency has an on-going programme started in the 1980s to repair the support structures and install impressed current CP systems to enhance long term durability. CEL have been supplying reference electrodes for the repair contracts since 1994 and are preferred supplier.
